This is all I have heard for the last three months! Sofia just LOVES, LOVES, LOVES our next door neighbors Abby and Lily. It doesn't surprise me, they are two of the sweetest girls I have ever met, I just love them too:) Sofia finally has a friend that is as obsessed with Princess as she is, and love to dress up and play babies just like she does too. I think that Abby and Sofia could play babies, dressed up and talk about Princesses all day long, and still want to do it all over again tomorrow.
We will miss them very much when we leave for CA in a couple of weeks, it has been so nice to have such great friend right next door!
Here are a couple of pictures of the three of them over the last three months:

Priceless
Emily is too young for sunscreen so my pediatrician told me about a swim suit that I could order that was a UV protectant and would cover her body. So of course I went online and ordered it, it only cost an arm and a leg! Then I also got her a hat that was also a UV protectant, it was a little more reasonable. So here is my summary of the pool:
Ridiculous Swim suit- $60.00
Hat- $15.00
Emily SCREAMING bloody murder as I put her tiny toe into the water- Priceless
After I calmed her down and nursed her, she talked to me for about 10 minutes about her experience. Here is a video, it's just too bad it doesn't do her conversation justice:)

Visitors
One of my best friends from college came to ABQ this week, and I got to see her! Aimee and I have been friends for a long time and it was so fun to see her and her family. We all went to dinner at Outback to celebrate her son, Dylan's 11th birthday. Dylan was a ring bearer in our wedding, so it was so great to see him all grown up! I also got to see her mom and sister, who I haven't seen in a long time. Aimee also has a son Connor who I got to meet for the first time, he is precious. Sofia LOVED Connor!!!! In fact Aimee and I think we might be inlaws in the future. Connor and Sofia, talked, ate dinner, colored together, and Hugged and Hugged! It was so fun to see them and visit, even if Emily screamed 90% of the time:)

Emily Speaks
Emily is "talking," up a storm lately. She is now repeating sounds that you make, and it is sooooo cute. Here she is repeating my cooing to her.

Natural History Museum...Dinosaur Museum
Albuquerque has an amazing Natural History Museum that I just absolutely LOVE!!!! I have some of my best childhood memories from this museum. I hesitated to take Sofia because it is a museum and I figured it wouldn't be much fun for her. Well I was wrong.
It was a VERY hot day and we didn't really have any plans so I thought, well I will take her there and just see if she likes it. It is all she has talked about for about a week straight, and she has asked anyone and everyone to take her back to see everything. We had a blast, we pretended to be mommy dinosaurs and sat on the eggs in one exhibit (we were allowed:) and then she loved the experiment room where she got to use microscopes. She loved all of the hands on computer story exhibits. She was a little confused when we left though that we didn't get to see any real dinosaurs. I tried to explain extinct but I am not sure if it got through. Another concept that was difficult was staying on the "right," side of the red ropes.
And yes she is wearing two dresses, I guess she couldn't decide. I just love her fashion forward thinking, if you can't decide why not look great wearing both!

Your Mother is Always Right!
So my mom has been saying for weeks now how much Emily looks like Sofia. I of course kept saying, no she doesn't. Well I was looking at old pictures the other day of Sofia at 2-3 months old on my mom's computer, and she is right! I can't believe how much they look alike.
So we are going to play a game. You have to look at these pictures and figure out which ones are Sofia and which ones are Emily. The answers are on the bottom.
Picture #1- Emily at her one month birthday party:)
Picture #2- Sofia shopping with Mommy at Nordstroms
Picture #3- Emily at her 2 month doctor visit
Picture #4- Me holding Sofia at my 29th birthday party
Picture #5- Mimi holding Sofia at Philips in the inner harbor
Picture #6- Emily staring at Sofia playing

State Fair Breakfast
When I was pregnant with Sofia I watched everything I ate, and stressed about it afterwards (just ask Chad). Then when Sofia started eating solids I made all of her baby food from scratch. Then I got a glimpse of just how picky she was when the only baby food she would eat was that disgusting jarred gerber meat baby food. Currently she eats chips, chips and salsa, nuggets, hotdogs, bacon, and any cupcake you offer her (but just the frosting).
So for breakfast she eats chips, hotdogs, and fruit snacks every morning. My mom and I laugh that she eats a "state fair breakfast." Whatever, you just have to pick your battles.
Lesson learned- live your life and don't stress about everything with your kids:) I think sometimes I should take my own advice.
School days
Sofia started school last Monday. She was SOOOOOO excited! She talked about it for weeks before it started, and then that day she got to wear her special dress that she had picked out for her "first day," and put on her backpack and headed out.
I cried when she went into her classroom, and then I felt so weird the whole time she was gone.
Then on Wednesday she decided that she didn't want to go. There was a mean boy who had "burned her cakes." I am guessing this was in the play kitchen. I finally talked her into going, by letting her pick out her own outfit (one of the "halloween" costumes that she LOVES to wear). She had a good time, especially because her friend Mylie was there to save her from the "cake burner."
She loves her teachers and is always wiped when I pick her up. My little girl is all grown up!
Getting ready for school
all packed up and ready to go.
Bye mom! I had such a hard time letting her go!
Outside of her door to school
On Friday they made visors. She looked so cute in hers. I told her she was the picture of summer with her visor, sunglasses, and summer dress. She laughed and said, "I'm Sofia Mommy."

Big Talker
Here is Emily, the big talker, playing with her book. She is getting so big! We had her two month check up and she is 90% for weight (12.85 lb), 97% for height (24 inches) and 75% for her brain (head circumference). She is a joy, and just the best baby. We love her very very much!!!!!

Ballerina
Sofia had her first dance recital last Friday. She looked so grown up in her little dance skirt and make-up with her hair done (courtesy of Noelle:) She was so grown up! I got to ride to the recital with just her and she told me how excited she was, and how she loved ballet (especially her teacher Miss Janie).
I told her to break a leg (which she gave me a weird look about- so I had to explain that it was just an expression), and let her go backstage with all of the other dancers. I got teary eyed when it was her turn, I just can't believe how grown up she is!
I am so proud of my little ballerina!!!!!
My little girl is growing up so fast!
