Texas Visit

So a couple of weeks ago we got to go visit all of our family in Texas! It was so fun. Sofia loved playing with her cousins Anne and Abby. I barely saw her, she was having so much fun! Emily got to get doted on by Grandma, and Papa. I got to have long afternoons of relaxation with my mother-in-law which I treasure. I finally got to see my sister and brother in law's awesome house. And we even got to see Great Granny and Great Grandma! It was an awesome trip.

Emily loves preschool

The girls and I go to a mommy and me preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It has been a good transition year ( she will go to real preschool next year) for Sofia and a great year of growth for Emily.
Emily now doesn't take a morning nap so she has really blossomed at preschool lately. She now loves it! She eats snack with everyone, plays, and participates in circle time. She took her first steps at preschool last week, and today she did her first painting. She also has dine playdough for the first time, and loves all the stuff she can explore and do. I love watching her! It also helps that now she passes out in the car ride home ( which is literally 5 minute!)

Being mom of two

Being a mom of two has been amazing, and very challenging all at the same time. Like right now I am typing this one handed:) You probably gave noticed that my posts have been less, and shorter.
Somethings that I didn't know but now I do:
Having two is like having 20. The laundry alone I feel like went from annoying to overwhelming. It isn't just more expensive, it is MORE expensive. At the end of the day, my entire body aches from head to toe, and my brain is more like soup, than anything.
I also noticed that there is a lot more laughter, and noise (which I love). I have never felt more like a family. I have become a better mom, and person. And the one thing that I have noticed the most, I never knew I could love two little people more. They make my day, my week, my month, and year. I may feel exhausted, dirty ( it is truly a red letter day when I get a shower), fried, and scared, but never more loved!

Walker!!!!!!

Emily took her first steps today! We were at our mommy and me preschool class, and she just stood up and started to walk over to my friend Christine, who she LOVES! It was so exciting to watch. I am so proud of her.
So here is a video, but I took it with my phone, because I just grabbed something. so it is sideways, sorry.

Visitors!

We got some very special visitors last week! John and Kelly came to California to see family, and we got to visit with them for a whole day. Sofia was so excited that they were here, she kept asking them how long they could stay! We all were very sad to see them go, but it was REALLY fun to visit!

ABQ

We have been busy. We went to Albuquerque for my sister's bridal shower. It was really fun to do bridal stuff and get to be a part of the planning of Noelle's wedding. She is marrying a terrific guy that we all LOVE!
The girls just love being with my parents, and family. It was really fun to see friends while we were there too. We just took the week to enjoy being with others. Here are some pictures:

We got to go to this fabulous place called the ABQ playroom with my friend Whitney and her girls, it was a BLAST! Both girls really loved it, and had a great time. Here Sofia is doing a dolls hair, that kept her busy for like 45 minutes! And yes that is Emily all dressed up, the girl loves to play dress up, it is hilarious!









Here Sofia is playing with Abby, her most favorite person in the whole world, she LOVES Abby!!!!! To watch them play is so fun, they are two peas in a pod, that is for sure.


Aunt MaryKay bought them this coloring book, they both had a great time coloring. It works out nice too, with one being left handed and one being right handed:)


Both girls love this swing in my parents backyard, they will swing as long as you will swing them.


My mom took the girls for a good hour, and I got a coffee break....since these coffee breaks so rarely happen I had to take a picture:)




We got to go and "play," at the bridal shop and get the girls flower girl dresses. This was by far one of my favorite things that we did while we were there.


We also got to go to the zoo with my dad. Emily loved seeing the animals, and anytime we left one she would cry until we got to another one. I loved spending time with my dad.

Happy Birthday Emmy Lou!

Emily's birthday started on March 26th and is still going! She is a great thing to celebrate, so we just keep on celebrating. It all started with Grandma and Grandpa's visit (see previous post). Then we had a birthday party for her with friends. She LOVED it, especially the cupcakes! She nows points to the refrigerator (because she knows where they are now) and asks for more. The day before her birthday we went to Disneyland with friends and "celebrated," her birthday. She got to see "Mum, Mum"...or Mickey Mouse on stage. We then had a small celebration in Newport with my parents for her actual birthday. She got to eat breakfast on the beach, play in the sand, and eat yes more cake! We then did a small birthday party for her just us, and she got to open gifts, eat rice (one of her favorites), and more cupcakes! It has been a great couple of weeks. We love you Emmy Lou, and are so glad that you are here, healthy and happy!!!!!
