The Smith family pictures

So we have been obsessed with taking pictures lately. Chad and I would LOVE to get a Canon Rebel and take real picture, maybe even take a class. But the whole family has gotten into it. Sofia seems to think that she is some sort of Ansel Adams or something. Here is a couple of her recent photo sessions:

Chad and I have also been taking some pictures lately. Here is some of our handy work:

Oh wait our stenographer took that picture! That's right we are expecting baby number 2! Sofia is so excited, she really is looking forward to being a big sister. She will also tell you that she has a baby in her belly, hopefully it will be many more years before she is truly announcing that. She would like to name the baby the Mad Hatter, I think we are still thinking of names:)

Conversations

Well our family has been taken out by some cold/flu bug. I am happy to announce thanks to my allergist Dr. Vaghi I am on the mend! Sofia has been a total trouper and taken all of her medicine, and done her dragon (nebulizer) and never complained. Chad, thank heavens has yet to get sick, so he has been working and taking care of us. It is very important for us all to stay well because we will be leaving for Newport CA, to see my family. And of course go to the all important Disneyland, to see the Princesses! So thank you to all of you who have been praying for us!

Well this week has also lead to funny conversations with Sofia:

Conversation #1- on the way to Dr. Vaghi's office yesterday.
Sofia, "Mommy where am I going."
Mommy, "To see Dr. Vaghi."
Sofia, "Do you like Dr. Vaghi?"
Mommy, "Yes, do you?"
Sofia, "Yes....he is sooooo funny" and doing her "nerdy laugh"

Conversation #2- in Dr. Vaghi's office waiting for him to come in
Sofia, "Mommy you are being a very good girl."
Mommy, "Thank you Sofia so are you."
Sofia, "I am so proud of you."

Conversation #3- we both take our medicine at the same time now, because it is just easier to remember. That and Sofia is MUCH better at taking her medicine than I am at taking mine, so she really is a good role model:)
Sofia while "helping," me pour my medicine into my cup, "Here you go Mommy, you have to take this if you want to see the princesses."
Mommy, "okay, thank you Sofia." take my medicine
Sofia, "good job Mommy."

She is so fun I can't even stand it sometimes! Even when we are both totally out for the count and feeling terrible she is just a joy to be around. She is smart, funny, caring and kind. I can't believe how blessed I am to not only be a part of her life, but to actually be her mom! I truly LOVE my job!

Oh la la

Sofia has recently found my lingerie drawer, and thinks that it is full of pretty dresses to wear and spin around in. At first I was a little mortified, and now I just think it is hilarious that she will just appear wearing a silk slip and twirling around singing some sort of princess song.

Chop sticks

So this was actually a video taken back in June but I forgot to add it to a post back then. But it was already up and loaded to you tube so I thought I would still share it. She loves using Chopsticks, and as you can see she is actually quiet good at it:)

Florida

Well we have been here in Florida since Saturday, and having a BLAST! It is wonderful to just relax, spend time with family and still have weather to be able to swim and wear swim suits all day. We have eaten like Kings, and built sand castle (even if it was a pathetic one), swam in the ocean and the pool, and made several trips to the Bass Pro shop (where they give out fudge samples now:). We still have one more day here but I thought I would post while I have help! Here are a couple of pictures and a two videos.

The saggy diaper incident. When Sofia wanted to run around in the splash park we decided to just let her go in her diaper. Well it was the funniest thing I have ever seen. It was so full of water that she kept grabbing it, and "playing," with it. Then she started to run off and the diaper took on a life of it's own. Sorry the camera is shaking so badly I couldn't stop laughing!

Anne and Sofia playing in the sand together, they were truly sand babies.

Grandma and Sofia swimming in the Ocean

Sofia writing her name in the sand:)

The Smith family riding in the Kayak, which Sofia loved until we turned around and she realized how far from shore we were.

Sofia's new nose ring!

Building our sandcastle all together.

All of the cousins in their matching outfits, don't they look so cute:)

Sherry Baby Rock Out Session

Go Orioles!

On Sunday it was America day at Camden Yards. We had heard they were doing $1 hotdogs and $1 sodas! So off we went to catch another ball game.
When we got there I was standing in line to buy tickets and another lady in line had a daughter about Sofia's age. I asked her if she knew if 2 and under still got in free. She told me that today was Maryland Lottery day and if you had 4 non winning lottery tickets, anyone got in free. She opened her purse and there were about 100 lottery tickets. She gave me 8 so we all got in FREE!!!
It was a beautiful day, and a cheap day, and the O's won! It was a great day for baseball (even if it was a million degrees).
Sofia got another "danger bat," because she forgot her's and needed something to scream "Go Orioles," into. She also scammed a hat because Mommy was terrified that she was going to get sunburned!
I am so sad that summer is coming to an end.

Slumber Party!

On Friday night Sofia had her very first sleep over! It was a blast. We had Avery over to spend the night, and they had so much fun! Sofia is still talking about it:)
We decided early on in the week to make it really special, so Sofia and I went to the craft store and bought two projects. Both projects were done in no time. I can't believe how fast these girls can paint. Then they decided to play in the kitchen together. It was all very sweet. Sofia just sat there while Avery served her dinner. Sofia kept telling Avery that everything was, "delicious." Here are a few pictures.

Then Chad came home with pizza, and both girls chowed down! After dinner it was bath time, and they would have stayed in there forever had we not taken them out. I think they both got a little pruney. Then we did story and prayers and they both went off to bed.

The next morning, Sofia woke up and said, "Where's Avery?" Well we had Sofia stay in bed with us, because Avery slept in! I only wish Sofia had done that too.
We made a big breakfast while the girls dressed up and ran around the house just laughing and laughing. We then took both girls to Ida Jane's birthday party. Where they had more fun. It was so much fun to have a friend spend the night!
